Seize Them! encourages fans to record and trade their live shows. However, there are some rules in play.

TAPING

  • The venue has the final say on whether or not audience taping will be allowed. We will do our best to persuade them, but it may not always work out. Be nice.
  • Other artists sharing the bill or stage with us may have a more restrictive taping policy than we do. If this is the case, the stricter policy must be respected.
  • Special "taper's tickets" are not yet necessary, but this will probably change if Seize Them! begins playing venues that require tickets. If a section of the venue has been designated as the 'taping area', please respect this and confine taping activities to the taping area.
  • Be Nice. Do not allow your taping to interfere with anyone else's enjoyment of the show. Don't shush people, and try to keep your mic stands out of everyone's face. We want everyone to have a good time, tapers and non-tapers alike.

TRADING

  • The recording and trading of Seize Them!'s live shows does not in any way represent an abdication of any rights Seize Them! has to their own music. Taping and trading is allowed and encouraged because it's fun, it builds community, and it's excellent promotion for the band. It is not a vehicle for anyone other than the band to use to profit financially.
  • Recordings may be traded only for an equivalent amount of similar media (pre-recorded or blank). Regardless of any expenses incurred, no money may ever be exchanged as part of a trade; however, stamped, self-addressed envelopes may be included with blank media. In addition, the media by which audio trading is publicized may not be commercialized. Therefore newsletters, web sites or any other communication forum facilitating audio trading cannot accept advertising, offer links for compensation, exploit databases compiled from their traffic, or otherwise derive any commercial proceeds in any form. (lifted from Phish's policy)
  • Any live Seize Them! show that has been officially released for sale by Seize Them! can no longer be traded. The Seize Them! EP was released under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-Share Alike 3.0 United States licesnse. Any reuse or distribution of the Seize Them! EP which violates this license is prohibited. For more detailed information about the license, please visit CreativeCommons.org.

ANY AND ALL OF THESE RULES CAN AND WILL CHANGE.
